The 2024 MIMAROPA RSTW (Regional Science, Technology & Innovation Week) Changing Lives through Science

Ngayong ika-7 ng Mayo 2024, ang lungsod ng Calapan ay naging sentro ng mga iskolar, mananaliksik, at

innovators sa isinagawang Regional Science, Technology & Innovation Week 2024. Ipinakita ng mga kalahok ang kanilang mga proyekto, ideya, at teknolohikal na pagbabago na naglalayong mapabuti ang buhay ng mga mamamayan. Pormal rin na inilunsad ang proyekto ng DOST na Mobile Modular Food Processing Facility o MMFPF.

Si City Mayor Malou Flores-Morillo ay isa sa mga pangunahing bisita sa aktibidad kasama ang Sangguniang Panlungsod, sa pangunguna ni Vice Mayor Rommel A. Ignacio, na nagpapakita ng suporta sa mga inisyatibong pang-agham at teknolohiya.

Naging bahagi sa aktibidad ang Calapan LGU na ibinida ang kanilang proyekto na tinatawag na “The Green City of Calapan.” Ipinakita nila ang tatlong haligi ng isang luntiang lungsod: kapaligiran, ekonomiya, at equity. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtutok sa mga aspetong ito, nais ng Calapan na maging modelo ng maayos na urbanisasyon na nagbibigay-pansin sa kalikasan, ekonomiya, at pagkakapantay-pantay ng lahat.
