The event featured inspiring messages, captivating performances, and the recognition of outstanding women who have made significant contributions to the community. Participants took
part in engaging activities that promoted women’s rights, empowerment, and unity, reinforcing the celebration’s theme.
The event also offered free services such as haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and massages. A special video presentation, “HerStory-OurStory,” showcased inspiring testimonies from various Calapenas, highlighting their life lessons and journeys toward becoming strong, independent women.
Calapan City Mayor Malou Flores-Morillo delivered the State of Women in Calapan address, titled “Kumusta, Kalapena?” In her speech, she discussed and highlighted the city government’s initiatives, projects, and programs that have supported the women of Calapan throughout her administration.
The People’s Council of Calapan City (PC3), Sarilaya, and various other sectors actively participated in and supported the celebration.
The International Women’s Day 2025 celebration in Calapan City was a resounding success with the help of the City Gender and Development Office, headed by Ms. Pinky Gahol, underscoring the city’s unwavering commitment to gender equality and the continued advancement of women.
