City College of Calapan Holds EDUFAP Distribution and Honors 2026 LET Passers in Celebration of Mayor Doy C. Leachon’s Birthday

Calapan City – On May 13, 2026, the City College of Calapan hosted the distribution of the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EDUFAP) for 1,729 student beneficiaries at the Kalap Gymnasium. Each student will receive ₱3,000 to support their studies. The program opened with remarks from Dr. Ronald F. Cantos, College Administrator, followed by messages from Ms. Marvie Mañibo, Head of the City Education Office, and Honorable Vice Mayor Bim Ignacio, who highlighted the role of education in strengthening families and the city’s future.
The highlight of the event was the message of Honorable Mayor Doy C. Leachon. Drawing from his own educational journey and challenges before entering public service, he reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring no Calapeño student is left behind due to financial constraints. The program also recognized the outstanding performance of the college’s 2026 LET passers, with a 100% passing rate in BSED Mathematics, 88.89% in BSED Science, and 80% in BSNED.
The celebration featured performances from students and faculty depicting Mayor Doy’s life and public service journey, alongside a dance number from the Alumni Association. A special moment came when Bokal RL Leachon sang “Pangako Sayo” for her husband, followed by birthday greetings and video messages from alumni of City College of Calapan around the world. The event reflected the city’s united effort to prioritize education and honor leadership rooted in service.
