The City Trade and Industry Department through the Industry Development Division conducted a wine tasting activity in support for the rice wine product of Calapan Farm Family Multi-purpose Cooperative (CALFFAMCO) this February 24, 2026 at the City College of Calapan HRM bldg. Faculty Lounge.
The activity started with tasting different commercial wine and identifying wine notes from said variety through taste, appearance, and smell. The lecture also included the fermentation process and wine ingredients focusing on achieving the desired flavor and alcohol content in wine. The wine tasting concluded with the tasting of the rice wine and how the process and flavor can be tested and changed during production of the local product.
The wine tasting activity is in line with the department’s initiative in local product development and extending assistance to local producers in the city.
